International Data Center Day is today and we’re celebrating all things data! Powered by 7×24 Exchange, today is designed to bring awareness to the industry and inspire aspiring talent in the IT and technology field.
At 165 Halsey Street, we take pride in this day by showing our deep appreciation for the industry as a whole and the employees behind their respective companies. Every role is vital in our day-to-day lives, which has become more apparent in continuing efforts to fight COVID-19 with the ongoing need of virtual learning and work from home. We hope this day inspires future generations to consider pursuing careers in this field as we look forward to a bright and innovative future ahead.
We are facing a future where 5G, virtual reality, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT) are transforming technology and cabling infrastructure. Technology is quickly taking data volume and data rates to levels we’ve never seen before. Today, data centers need to be fast, accessible, scalable, and cost-effective.
Fiber protection equipment must be reliable as it is expected to have uninterrupted operations, even during natural disasters, and any experienced downtime can result in lost revenue.
While International Data Center Day is recognized annually in March, the industry can continue to work together during and after to “connect with future generations and ensure a steady flow of skilled labor, enhance the public image of data centers and safeguard the ongoing prosperity of the data center industry.”
